“The symbol of our church reveals key elements of the Resurrection story found in the Gospels. Starting in the deep blue darkness of the pre-dawn morning on the day of Resurrection, a golden stone rolls away from the tomb’s entrance and becomes the Sun, the sign of a new day and a new beginning for all of God’s Creation. R-E-S-U-R-R-E-C-T-I-O-N spills from the open tomb revealing the universal symbol of our faith, an empty cross, which glows of gold and the promise of life everlasting.”

LET’S GROW TOGETHER
We provide opportunities for spiritual growth.
People often ask me, “What does your church believe?” They want to know specifics, so that they can decide if we have the “right” understanding of God or “correctly” interpret God’s Word.
That is not how we approach faith and belief. Our church is not bound together by tests of doctrine. We are bound together by our love of God in Jesus Christ and our shared mission to impact people in our community with that love.
We are a welcoming and affirming church, which means we accept and value all people. No exceptions!
We are a church firmly rooted in the Holy Scriptures, but tradition and reason help to shape our faith also.
Our worship style has its origins in the earliest known Christian communities and we value and learn from the experiences of God of the faithful Christians who have gone before us.
Our faith is a living faith, and our church is a community, not an idea.
We are currently gathering for worship, fellowship, and Christian spiritual formation on Sundays at 11 a.m. at the Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, located at 1159 N. Greenfield, Gilbert AZ 85234.
We hope you’ll visit us one Sunday and see what we’re about!
